Flooding menace in Baringo County.

Kenya as a country has been experiencing a series of floods in some parts of the country. The effects of the floods are enormous and characterized by the loss of lives and livelihoods, destruction of infrastructure and properties.
Furthermore, flooding is also a potential threat to outbreak of waterborne diseases.
In Baringo, the most affected areas are those areas surrounding Lake Baringo, like Salabani, Meisori, Kampi Ya samaki, Lorruk, Komolion, Loyeiya, Rugus, Noosukuro, Kiserian, Sokotei and Ngambo.
A flooded school
Many families in these areas have been displaced from their homes and thus forced to relocate in areas such as Marigat, Kiserian, Ilngarua, Eldume and so forth.
" 76 households, 420 farmers and 50 of crops acres have been affected ", said Chief Daniel Lenakure of Kiserian location.
Lake Bogoria on the other hand has also burst its banks and displaced 78 households and 20 acres of crops. The infrastructure and some other social institutions have been affected by the flooding.
